Auto transport for dealerships — auction pickups, inventory moves, trade-ins, and dealer-to-dealer transfers. FMCSA-licensed broker, vetted carriers, no upfront payment.
Dealerships move vehicles constantly — auction purchases that need to get to the lot, trade-ins that need to go somewhere, inventory transfers between rooftops, and customer delivery vehicles that need to reach buyers across state lines. Every one of those moves requires a carrier, a booking, and someone to manage the logistics.
ATP handles dealer transport the same way we handle consumer transport — FMCSA-licensed broker, vetted carriers verified for active authority and current insurance, price-locked quotes, no upfront payment until the carrier loads the vehicle. The difference with dealer accounts is volume, turnaround expectations, and the operational detail that comes with moving inventory rather than a personal vehicle.
Vehicles purchased at Manheim, ADESA, Copart, or any wholesale auction need to move to your lot fast. We dispatch on your timeline, coordinate with the auction's release process, and get carriers on your loads without the back-and-forth. Lot release, gate fees, and title handling are the dealer's responsibility — we handle the transport side.
Inventory balancing between rooftops, affiliated stores, or wholesale buyers. Whether it's one vehicle or a full load, we match your inventory to carriers already running your corridors and confirm pickup windows that work with your lot hours and staffing.
Trade-ins that don't fit your lot — wrong segment, over mileage, flood history — need to move to wholesale buyers, auctions, or affiliated dealers. We handle outbound trade-in transport on a per-vehicle basis with the same carrier vetting and pricing as any other load.
Customers who buy vehicles remotely — online purchases, out-of-state buyers, fleet purchases — increasingly expect delivery to their door. We coordinate dealer-to-customer delivery transport with door-to-door service, carrier confirmation, and delivery inspection documentation on both ends.
Off-lease vehicles moving from customer to reconditioning center, auction, or CPO inventory require coordinated transport on tight timelines. We handle single units and batches with the same process — carrier assigned, pickup window confirmed, Bill of Lading documentation at both ends.
Pre-owned luxury, exotic, and high-value inventory requires enclosed transport with lift gate loading and higher cargo insurance limits. We confirm enclosed carrier specs before assigning any load where vehicle value or clearance requirements make open transport inappropriate.
Give us the vehicle details, origin, destination, and your first available date. Phone, email, or quote form — whatever works for your operation.
We match your load to a vetted FMCSA-authorized carrier running your corridor. Active authority and current cargo insurance confirmed before assignment.
Carrier contacts your lot to confirm the pickup window. Bill of Lading completed at pickup — every mark on the vehicle documented before it leaves your lot.
Delivery inspection completed at the destination. Bill of Lading signed by receiving party. Any discrepancies noted before signature.
Dealer transport pricing follows the same market rates as consumer transport — distance, vehicle size, corridor demand, and timing. There is no separate "dealer rate" in the open market; pricing reflects what carriers are actually charging to run your specific corridor on a given week.
What dealers can control: lead time and flexibility. Loads submitted with 5 to 7 days of lead time and a flexible pickup window consistently price better than last-minute emergency dispatches. If your operation has predictable weekly volume, planning loads a week out rather than same-day gives us more carrier options at better rates.
| Distance | Open Transport | Enclosed Transport | Transit Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Under 500 miles | $400 – $625 | $650 – $975 | 1 – 3 days |
| 500 – 1,000 miles | $795 – $1,125 | $1,250 – $1,700 | 2 – 4 days |
| 1,000 – 1,500 miles | $1,100 – $1,550 | $1,700 – $2,400 | 3 – 5 days |
| Over 1,500 miles | $1,325 – $1,665 | $2,100 – $3,500+ | 4 – 7 days |
Before any carrier is assigned to a dealer load, we confirm the following through FMCSA's SAFER database and load board verification:
Active FMCSA operating authority. Carriers with suspended or revoked MC numbers are not dispatched under any circumstances. Authority status is checked at the time of assignment, not just at onboarding — carrier status can change.
Current cargo insurance. We verify that cargo insurance is active and within policy. Carriers with lapsed or insufficient coverage are not used. For enclosed loads carrying high-value inventory, we confirm coverage limits before assignment.
Satisfactory safety rating. Carriers with unsatisfactory FMCSA safety ratings and various load board ratings are excluded from our network regardless of pricing or availability.
ATP's own credentials: MC# 1302183, USDOT# 3710693, both verifiable at safer.fmcsa.dot.gov.
Submit your load details — vehicle, origin, destination, and timeline. We'll have a price-locked quote to you within an hour.
Yes. We handle dealer transport on a per-load basis — auction pickups, inventory transfers, trade-in disposition, customer delivery, and high-value enclosed loads. Contact us directly by phone or through the quote form to discuss your operation's specific needs.
Yes. Multi-vehicle loads on the same corridor can often be placed on the same carrier when timing and space allow. For consistent weekly volume on a specific lane, contact us to discuss load planning that works with your inventory flow.
We coordinate with the auction's release process and dispatch a carrier to pick up your vehicle after lot release is confirmed. Gate fees and title documentation are handled by the dealer — we manage the transport logistics from pickup to delivery.
A Bill of Lading is completed at pickup and delivery documenting the vehicle's condition at both ends. The carrier and receiving party both sign. This documentation is the basis for any cargo claim if damage occurs in transit.
Yes, as long as the vehicle rolls, steers, and brakes. Vehicles that cannot roll under their own power require winch loading, which adds $225 to $500 to the transport cost. Always disclose the vehicle's condition when submitting a load so we can match the right carrier and equipment.
5 to 7 days ahead is the sweet spot for most corridors. This gives us enough lead time to match your load to a carrier already running your route at a competitive rate. Last-minute same-day dispatches are possible on major corridors but typically price higher and offer fewer carrier options.
