About Auto Transport Professionals

ATP was built by someone who grew up on the back of a car hauler.

The owner started riding along on transport runs with his father as a kid, learning the business from the ground up — how loads get built, how carriers run routes, what happens when a vehicle gets damaged and nobody documented it on the Bill of Lading. He went on to drive trucks himself before moving to the brokerage side of the business.

That background matters because most brokers in this industry have never loaded a car onto a trailer. They don't know what a carrier actually deals with on the road, and they don't know what to look for when vetting one. ATP does.

How We Vet Carriers

Every carrier in our network is verified for active FMCSA operating authority, valid cargo insurance, and a clean safety record. But credentials on paper only go so far in an industry with minimal regulation. We also evaluate carriers based on their dispatch history, communication reliability, and how they handle vehicles once loaded. If a carrier doesn't meet our standard, they don't touch your car.

How a Shipment Works

When you book with ATP, you get a price-locked quote — the number we give you is the number you pay. No deposits collected until a carrier is assigned. Your coordinator handles carrier matching, confirms insurance coverage, and gives you driver details before pickup.

At pickup and delivery, both you and the driver conduct a walk-around inspection documented on a Bill of Lading. That document is your protection if anything goes wrong, and we make sure every customer understands how to use it.

Insurance and Protection

Every vehicle shipped through ATP is protected by the carrier's cargo insurance plus an additional $250,000 in contingent cargo coverage. That second layer exists because carrier policies don't always cover every scenario — and we've seen enough claims to know the difference matters.
